Incessant rains have created havoc in Guwahati, paralyzing normal life and making daily commuters face immense problems in reaching their destinations.

"It's raining for the past three days. Streets are waterlogged. Students are not able to go to school. Elders are not able to go for work. We are facing problems," said a resident, Safal Roy.

The rains have been continuously pouring since Saturday, flooding the main roads and various other parts of Guwahati.

Due to heavy rains, schools and college have been closed.

Meanwhile, in August, flood water from river Brahmaputra inundated major parts of a wildlife sanctuary, Kaziranga National Park (KNP) and rose to danger level in many areas of Kokrajhar district of Assam in northeastern India.

In 2012, hundreds of animals were killed during the floods in Kaziranga.
