Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Friday expressed profound grief over the gangrape a photojournalist in Mumbai, and said that such incidents make one boil with anger.
"It's so unfortunate, it really makes you boil with anger. It's so unfortunate I have no words to say the pain, the suffering this incident has inflicted," he said.
The incident took place last evening in Lower Parel area where 23-year-old woman had gone for an assignment.
The woman was working with an English Magazine as an intern. According to police, the men tied up the friend who was accompanying her and raped the woman.
The victim, who was admitted to Jaslok Hospital, had sustained multiple internal injuries. She is stated to be in a stable condition now.
The Centre has sought a detailed report on the gangrape incident.
Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today said that he has spoken to the Commissioner of Police on the gangrape incident in Mumbai urging for stringent action.
