The income from the fourth ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand, that was held on Wednesday, would be donated to the families of the children who were martyred in a terrorist attack in Peshawar, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced.
Further, the proceeds would also be used to rebuild the school where Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants killed 141 people out of which 132 were children.
The fourth ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand went ahead as per schedule despite the PCB wanting it to be postponed after a deadly terrorist attack in Peshawar. New Zealand won the match by seven runs, The Express Tribune reported.
A PCB spokesperson had said ahead of the match that they tried their best to postpone the fourth ODI, but added that they were constrained by the broadcasters' commitment as well as for cricketing reasons advised by the New Zealand management.
The spokesperson also said that they are playing outside Pakistan only because of the threat of terrorism at home. He added that if they allow terrorists to disrupt their matches abroad, then all would be lost.
Pakistan players wore black armbands in grief for the martyred and also observed a two-minute silence and flags were lowered.
