Singapore, Feb 16 (ANI)The Asia-pacific region has traditionally been one our strongest markets, said Fabric Bregier, Chief Executive Officer and President of Airbus here today.
Bregier made this statement while announcing regional results, and gave credit to middle class and business professionals who are attracted by low cost rates.
He was also appreciative of private airlines in India, which he said were phenomenally sucessful in this sector because they have been investing their own funds.
Bregier said Airbus has strengthened its market leading position in the Asia-Pacific region in 2015, winning 421 net orders from 17 airlines and lessors, which represent 39 percent of all net order intake in 2015 for 1080 aircraft.
He was of the opinion that bigger aircraft do help a lot in promoting low cost tickets, as more passengers can be carried in them to both short and long destinations.
