India and China on Friday signed two agreements - sharing hydrological data on Sutlej River and cultural.
Though the pact on water resources was renewal of an agreement dealing with sharing hydrological data on the Sutlej, under the cultural pact, India will hold exhibitions of art from the Gupta period, which is known as 'Golden Age' during which famous Chinese traveller Fa Hien came to India.
The agreements were signed following the talks between Vice-President Hamid Ansari and his Chinese counterpart Li Yuanchao. Li is the first Chinese Vice-President to visit India in more than six decades.
Vice-President Li met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the evening and discussed issues of mutual interests.
Vice-President Li also met President Pranab Mukherjee later in the evening.
Li had arrived in India on Tuesday and visited Aurangabad and Kolkata before his travel to the national capital.
In Aurangabad, the Chinese Vice-President visited the Ajanta Caves and also met the city mayor.
In Kolkata, he met West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He also visited Jorasanko Thakur Bari, the ancestral home of Rabindranath Tagore, which is now part of the Rabindra Bharati University campus.
