The 29th Suraj Kund International Mela brings in artisans from SAARC nations to show case rich cultural diversity, handicrafts and handlooms.
The ongoing Suraj Kund crafts Mela Faridabad on the outskirts of capital New Delhi is attracting visitors from all across the country to get glimpse of culture and craft of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Eurasian nations, Gulf nations, Thailand, Uganda and Syria.
The event has been jointly hosted by Suraj Kund crafts Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism Corporation.
Artisans showcased their products in an exquisite way that enlivens the mood of the visitors.
Artisans and craftsperson from Afghanistan and Nepal have enthusiastically showcased their products at the fair.

In the Afghanistan pavilion, the handmade carpets and dry fruits were a hit among visitors.
"This is the first fair in India where people from different countries are participating. Every country is displaying their handicrafts and other items. We are really enjoying participating in the fair and will also come next year." Said, Mohammed Isaq Tumirzada, a carpet seller from Afghanistan.
The visitors have admired the carpets made in Afghanistan.
"We are coming here since the last 6-7 years and our products are handmade. We are based in Kabul and are exhibiting our products in other fairs in India like IITF (India International Trade Fair). So our products are in great demand in India." Said, Abdul Utuz, another carpet seller from Afghanistan.
A large number of exhibitors have participated from neighbouring Nepal. They displayed a variety of handloom products
"When we come to India we get good buyers, our products are renowned across the world as everyone likes it. These products are prepared by women and we get lot of support for making our products. These products are good and we prepare the products sitting at home. The item which is displayed here is done at home. Once our products are ready we send it to our head office and we sell our products to through exhibitions which is beneficial to us and Nepal." Said, Tara Khatri, an exhibitor from Nepal
The Suraj Kund International crafts Mela has occupied a place of pride and prominence by attracting domestic and international visitors.
The 15-day long fair will conclude on February 15.
