India discusses bilateral interests with US in a commercial dialogue

Looking at the commercial interest of India and the U.S, India emphasized on a number of key areas in the commercial dialogue that took place in the capital here on Tuesday.

"We certainly spoke on lot of interesting things emphasizing on where the two countries can help each other, take the businesses forward and some of the points on which we have spoken are the US to have interest an investments in infrastructure. We highlighted the fact that on defence, several sub-sectors within defence have been de-licensed. We have opened up on FDI and spoke about the Railways wherein investment can come in," Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told the media persons here.

 

The Commerce Minister also said that India asked for possibilities where technology could be shared to improve and also to bring in investments to help small and medium sector industries in the country.

"Small and medium industries are the ones which provide great number of jobs, they employ a lot people both in the two-tier, three-tiered cities. So, small and medium industries need greater understanding and investment," Sitharaman said.
