In a veiled attack at the UPA Government Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the nation was doing progressing holistically under the current regime since it came in power 17 months ago.
"By almost every major economic indicator, India is doing better than when we took office 17 months ago. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth is up and inflation is down, foreign investment is up, current account deficit is down," Prime Minister Modi said in his address inaugurating Delhi Economics Conclave 2015 here.
"The revenues are up and interest rates are down, fiscal deficit is down and rupee is stable. We embarked on a course of fiscal consolidation. For the first time we entered into a monetary framework agreement with RBI to curb inflation," he added.
Reiterating his agenda of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas', Prime Minister Modi stressed that reform helps all citizens and especially the poor in achieving a better life.
"Reforming to transform is a marathon not a sprint," he added.
