Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr Workneh Gebeyehu attended aJoint Committee Meeting between the two countries on Wednesday. He led discussions on issues, including terrorism.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Dr Gebeyehu led their respective delegations in the meeting.
External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar took to his official Twitter account to inform about the meeting.
"EAM @SushmaSwaraj & Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gebeyehu led their delegations for the 2nd Joint Committee Meeting. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening relations in political, terrorism, trade & investment, development partnership, capacity building, S & T & culture." Kumar tweeted.
Earlier in the day Raveesh Kumar highlighted the aim of Dr. Gebeyehu visit to Indian as to ensure a a strong and robust partnership for a South-South cooperation.
"Building upon a robust & strong partnership underpinned by shared values & principles of South-South cooperation, EAM @SushmaSwaraj welcomed Foreign Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu for 2nd Joint Committee Meeting. Our recorded historical linkages go back to 2000 years." Kumar tweeted.
Earlier in 2017 President Ramnath Kovind visited Ethiopia. The two countries had then signed agreements for cooperation in trade and communication sectors to boost bilateral ties.
