India secured the sixth spot in the list of the world's wealthiest countries, a report filed on Wednesday stated.
As per New World Wealth, a South Africa-based global market research group, India was ranked sixth in the list for possessing a total wealth of USD 8,230 billion.
According to the report, India was the best performing wealth market globally in 2017, as its total wealth increased from USD 6,584 billion in 2016 to USD 8,230 billion in 2017, thereby registering a spike of 25 percent.
Meanwhile, the United States was hailed as the wealthiest country, with a total wealth of USD 64,584 billion in 2017. China secured the second spot with a wealth of USD 24,803 billion, while Japan came in third with USD 19,522 billion.
On a related note, total wealth refers to the private wealth held by all the individuals living in each country, including all their assets.
However, the report excludes government funds from its statistics.
