India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made a request to Malaysian authorities seeking details of a Sri Lankan national, who, post his arrest, revealed that Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) was plotting to attack the United States Consulate in Chennai and the Israeli mission in Bangalore.
The NIA has reportedly sought further information from Malaysia under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, the Island reports.
A senior NIA official said that at this stage the agency did not know much about the Sri Lankan national, Mohamed Hussain Mohamed Sulaiman, adding that before asking for his extradition, the NIA will need to have a sound case against him.
He further said that a red-corner notice has already been issued against him through the Interpol.
