ANI New Delhi

The Indian High Commission to Islamabad has proposed to the Pakistan Government that it wants to organise transport at own cost for about 20 Indians stuck in Lahore to take them to the Wagah-Attari for their early return to India.

The High Commission's request came after the Indian Railways said Samjhauta Express would not run on Sunday due to intensification of agitation by farmers in Punjab.

External Affairs Ministry's spokesperson Vikas Swarup said clearance of the Pakistan Government is awaited in this regard.

Spokesperson's response came on Saturday night following a media query about Indians stranded in Pakistan due to cancellation of Samjhauta Express.

Train services have been affected due to the farmers' agitation in Punjab.
