Ace Indian shuttler B.Sai Praneeth knocked out of the ongoing Macau Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament after suffering a straight-games defeat at the hands of China's Zhao Jun Peng in the men's singles event here on Friday.

Praneeth failed to match the intensity of his Chinese opponent and was eventually ended with a 19-21,9-21 defeat in a one-sided quarter-final clash that lasted about half-an-hour.

With his defeat, India's challenge also folded at the tournament.

Earlier, top-seed Saina Nehwal, who is yet to win a title since making a return to the international arena from knee injury last month, also bowed out of the tournament by going down 12-21, 17-21 at the hands of World No. 226 Zhang Yiman .
