Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national media convener Shrikanth Sharma today hailed the NDA government for the rapid increase in the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), calling it the start of 'achhe din'.

Speaking to ANI, Sharma said, "The condition the country was in when we took over the government after the UPA II's rule was pathetic. The economy was in ICU. However, Modi ji's government is ever ready to take our country towards great development. This is the start of 'acche din'.

Sharma also said that the present government wants the country to progress. "We are taking all the possible steps to ensure that the 21st century belongs to India. We are now trying to overcome the paralysis that the global economic crisis has put our country in. We are determined to strive for the progress of our nation.

According to market experts, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, investors are looking at India with a lot of confidence, whether domestic or international investors, FIIs or FDI.
