US Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday said the process of India's UNSC bid is complicated and it will take time.

"There is a way but it is complicated (India's UNSC bid). We are working on it. We are in support of some of the reforms (in UN). But it is going to take a while and one has to work through that," Kerry said while interacting with the students at the IIT, Delhi.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj yesterday said India is looking to work closely with the US to secure membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) and permanent membership of the UN Security Council.

"I thanked Secretary Kerry for his reiteration of continued US support to India's membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group and permanent membership of the UN Security Council. We both agreed that India's enhanced global role is in mutual interest," she said at the joint press interaction during the second India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.

Kerry, who is presently on a two-day visit to India, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi later today.
