Commenting on Pakistan High Commissioner's Abdul Basit's statement that JuD chief Hafiz Saeed is free to roam in his nation, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Monday said that the Government of India needs to ask Pakistan not to allow terrorists or their outfit into their lands.
"Pakistan is at fault for allowing terrorists in the country. The Government of India needs to ask Pakistan Government, to not allow its soil to be used by terrorists and by terrorist outfits. Both the countries should leave in harmony and the issue should be addressed appropriately," said Raja.
Speaking at a conference organised by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) earlier in the day, Basit had said, "Hafiz Saeed is a Pakistan national, he is free to roam the country. What is the problem?"
Basit's statements came in response to reports that Saeed was in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Though initially kept under house arrest, a ruling by the Lahore High Court set him free.
