Chief Justice of India (CJI) J.S. Khehar on Saturday said India can establish itself as a hub for commercial international arbitration and emerge as a leader among other Asian developing economies .

He said that a robust legal system and zero government interference can make India a preferred destination for international commercial arbitration.

Addressing a seminar 'Engaging Asia Arbitration Summit', Justice Khehar said, "India's potential for international commercial arbitration is set to increase in exponential scale. This is because more and more foreign investors are coming into India and this will generate an increase in commercial international arbitration."

Justice Khehar said that the future of international commercial arbitration in Asia must commence from India.

"In my view, it will promote further confidence of traders in arbitration in the country," he said.
