Riding on Martin Guptill's 111, New Zealand set India a stiff target of 314, which India managed to equal at the end of their allotted 50 overs.
India lost it's ninth wicket at 286, when last man Varun Aaron joined Ravindra Jadeja in the middle.
The partnership between the duo equaled 28 runs, with Aaron hitting just 2 runs out of the partnership.
