In view of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes' demise, the authorities have officially cancelled the practice match between India and Cricket Australia XI, which was scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday at Adelaide Oval.
The decision to cancel the match was taken on Thursday, considering the mindset of players, who played with Hughes or against him, due to be involved.
Indian cricket team has extended condolences to the family of Hughes, calling it an unfortunate tragedy. It further said that the team cherishes the memories of playing along with him and respect the contribution he has made to the game of cricket, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
India will stick to their plan of not leaving for Brisbane until Monday. In the meantime they will continue training in Adelaide, next on Friday morning.
