India, UAE ink 14 agreements to boost strategic ties

India and UAE on Wednesday signed 14 agreements in various fields including defence, comprehensive strategic partnership, shipping, agriculture, prevention and combating human trafficking and other allied sectors to boost strategic ties between both sides.

The agreements were sugned after the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Hyderabad House here.

Prime Minister invited UAE to become India's partner in infrastructure projects. He said India is encouraging and facilitating the trade between the two sides. He said energy partnership between India and UAE is crucial.

Earlier in the day, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi received ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here.

 

He also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial Rajghat.

The Crown Prince, who is on a three-day official visit to India, will be the chief guest at this year's Republic Day parade on Thursday. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation including ministers, senior officials and captains of industry.
