As a part of the ongoing Indo-US defence cooperation, 'Yudh Abhyas 2014', an Indo-US joint exercise, was conducted here today.
Colonel Aditya Kapur (CO, 2/9 GR) said, "We had received information about four militant that were hiding in the school. Then the Indo-US joint battalion headquarters took the decision of launching both the companies."
"We found four militants hiding in the school, out of which two open fired and were killed, while the other two have been arrested," he added.
Confirming that the drill has been successfully executed and is now over, Col. Aditya Kapur said, "We have covered two villages in this drill and gave medical treatment to the villagers."
Talking about how such operations are executed, Colonel Hayens of the United States Army told ANI, "From the last two weeks we have been training our contingents. We have some break communication and then we do operations with a series of some briefings."

It is focused on counter insurgency and counter terrorism operation in mountainous terrain in United Nations peacekeeping scenario. The endeavor is part of bilateral defense cooperation.
