The top representatives of India and Vietnam on Monday signed seven pacts to further strengthen the strategic partnership in the key sectors including oil exploration, agriculture and connectivity between the two countries.
In the presence of President Pranab Mukherjee and his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang, two agreements, a letter of intent and four Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) were signed today.
The two countries have arrived at an agreement to extend mutual assistance and cooperation in the custom matters while ONGC Videsh and Petro Vietnam have signed a letter of intent to further consolidate their partnership in oil exploration in South China Sea.
The two countries also agreed for a confessional line of credit through the Exim Bank of India for the defence procurement. A MoU for taking up joint activities in the fields of animal health and fish breeding and youth affairs was also signed.
President Pranab Mukherjee earlier held both, high-level talks with his Vitanam counterpart Truong Tan Sang and delegation-level talks to conclude on mutual agreements to widen cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
