The Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC) an advocacy group dedicated to safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, has wished all Indians across the world a joyous 67th Independence Day.

In a statement, the IAMC said: "We must use this occasion to reaffirm our commitment to the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India to all citizens. The spirit of the freedom struggle must be kept alive by shunning the ideas of supremacy and by embracing the pluralism and diversity of India."

"The fruits of Independence must be reflected in security and equal opportunity for all the citizens," said Ahsan Khan, President of IAMC.

"Marginalization of any section of society is in direct contradiction to our national values and is detrimental to the health of the nation's social fabric," Khan added.

Indian American Muslim Council is the largest advocacy organization of Indian Muslims in the United States with 13 chapters across the nation.
