Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh on Thursday said that Pakistan is desperate to push terrorists into India but they are getting befitting reply from the Indian armed forces.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "The Pakistan Army had retaliated first which followed a blast soon after that. One jawan and around five people have been injured in this incident. Pakistan wants to push terrorists this side but they are being given a befitting reply by our forces. These ceasefire violations seem to be a desperate attempt."

Earlier in the day, a jawan and another civilian was killed while five others injured as Pakistan resorted to ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

At around 10:35 a.m., Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms along the LoC in Krishna Ghati Sector.
