Indian designers have shifted their stance from avante garde fashion to real and wearable designs to attract the attention of the masses instead of a select few.

You are missing the point if what people see on the ramp is not seen on streets, leading designer Manish Malhotra said.

Malhotra asserted that while he does agree there is art in fashion too, but real fashion is what becomes part of the culture and that happens when people embrace it that.

According to Rod Anker, Creative Director of Monsoon Saloon and Spa, hair and makeup trends filter from runway to street at times very clearly and at times in subtle ways and ramp fashion certainly has a large play in what is transpired to the everyday fashion.

Couturier Archana Kochchar said that there is no fun if people can't wear designs, then you might as well just sketch the clothes and leave it at that.

This is not a trend restricted to clothes alone - fashion, is all about the whole look.

Hair, for example, is shorter with color being a more common tool to enhance a look these days and texture is big and curl is out because natural movement of hair is in, Anker said.

Similarly, if runway hair globally is undone and not overdone, that is an element that we are seeing on the streets too, he added.
