A musical band comprising artists from India and Pakistan performed in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The band mostly known for its Sufi rock compositions was invited to Ahmedabad to entertain the public.

Apart from composer Mekaal Hasan and Pakistani flutist Muhammed Ahsan Pappu, other three members-drummer Gino Banks, bassist Sheldon D'Silva and vocalist Sharmistha Chatterjee - were from India.

"In our band Hindu, Muslims and Christians are playing together. We are playing something which doesn't belong to either Hindu, Muslim or Christian but to everybody," said Pakistani music composer Mekaal Hasan.

Hasan also rued the fact they couldn't play in Pakistan due to security and lack of sponsorship.

"You need sponsors and security for shows. Security is an issue in Pakistan for few years now," he added.

They had earlier performed in cities like Vadodara and Surat.
