Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish served in a meat or fish based broth.

Now Ippudo, a Japanese Ramen restaurant chain, has cooked a Ramen dish to cater to vegetarians in Asia, especially Indians.

In a trial event, Ippudo prepared two varieties of vegetarian Ramen dishes. The hot Ramen was produced with vegetables and sea wood. It is served with Tempura, a side dish prepared with pineapple.

Other varieties is cold Ramen soup with ingredients, including coffee, Japanese wine vinegar and Balsamico Vinegar.

Both varieties exclude meat and seafood.

Shigemi Kawahara, President of Ippudo, said vegetarian Ramen has been developed by investigating Japanese Shojin food.

It is derived from Buddhism and prepared as a meal for monks. Shojin food includes ingredients such as vegetables, beans and grains.

Ippudo would introduce vegetarian Ramen in India or any other Asian country if people develop a taste for it.
