The owner of the Nazi-themed cafe has reportedly decided to shut down the cafe amidst pressure from Indonesian authorities and those from abroad.
According to the Independent, Henry Mulyana, who ran the Soldatenkaffee (Soldier) cafe in the West Java capital, Bandung, met local authorities Monday and tourism chiefs suggested him to change the name and theme of the cafe.
While Mulyana said that he was considering his options he declared he would not reopen the cafe.
The city officials were worried the cafe might incite hate and racism in the town, which is a tourist destination.
The staff at the cafe dresses up in Nazi uniform and can be seen posing in front of the building on its Facebook page and the walls of the cafe is covered with a flag bearing the swastika, internationally recognised symbols representing violence and racism, and a giant picture of Adolf Hitler.
