Indonesian rescuers have said that they believe that the emergency slide and a plane door that they have found while searching for the doomed AirAsia flight QZ8501 suggest that the passengers tried to evacuate.

Tatang Zaenudin, an official with the search and rescue agency said that they recovered four bodies and one of them was wearing a life jacket, reported Stuff.co.nz.

Large objects beneath the waters of Java Sea were found where debris and bodies were floating.

Indonesian rescuers have recovered various bits of debris including passenger luggage and bodies floating in the water.

Surabaya authorities were preparing to receive and identify bodies with 130 ambulances to collect DNA from victims' families and take them to a police hospital.

At least two of the bodies have been unloaded from an Indonesian naval command ship called the Bung Tomo to the airport in Pangkalan Bun.

AirAsia flight QZ8501, flying from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore with 162 people on board, lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday.
