An Indonesian sportswear firm has apologized after they sparked rage by printing sexist washing instructions which read "Give this shirt to a woman. It's her job."
Salvo Sports faced a backlash via social media for their blatant sexism in a range of shirts for a top division football club in Indonesia, and said sorry explaining that they never intended to humiliate women, the Daily Star reported.
They said what they wanted was to tell the men to learn from women how to take care of clothes because they are more capable, the firm posted on Twitter.
The timing couldn't be worse, as it was International Women's Day, which celebrates womens' achievements worldwide and calls for gender equality.
