Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Ghati Sector, near here today.

Apparently, the firing was resorted to to give cover to a group of four armed persons from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to enable them to infiltrate across the Line of Control. The infiltrators were seen moving towards an Indian forward post near Line of Control in the Krishna Ghati Sector in Poonch district around 9:50 in the morning today.

When challenged by Indian troops, the infiltrators started firing indiscriminately . Indian troops took position and opened fire on the infiltrating group, and they were pushed back towards PoK.

Thereafter, all Pakistan posts in Krishna Ghati sector area opened heavy fire with small arms and 82 mm mortars, and the Indian troops responded with calibrated response.

In another incident, Pakistan violates ceasefire agreement in Poonch Brigade area with small arms at 11:00 am today. Indian troops returned fire in a calibrated response.

In both the incidents, there was no casualty or injury to any person on the Indian side.

Firing from Pak side in both LC Sectors was still continuing when the last report came in.
