The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Friday said inflation will come down under greater control in the coming months.

When asked whether he thought that the RBI has been behind the curve in this entire growth v/s inflation dynamics because the Finance Minister some time back did say that he would like to work alone if the RBI doesn't listen, Dr. Singh said: "Monetary policy of the country is decided by the Reserve Bank, and I respect the judgement of the Reserve Bank, but this is also an evolving process. As we get control over inflation, there is more space available to pursue pro growth policies."

"And I do believe that in the coming months I think you will see inflation coming down under greater control and the space for growth promoting activities also increasing," he added, while interacting with mediapersons onboard his special aircraft Air India One while returning home after his successful two-nation visit to Japan and Thailand.
