England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that the middle-order batsman Gary Balance has fractured his right little finger during a practice session but will be fit for the next month's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Releasing a statement, ECB stated that Ballance had a fractured right little finger, sustained during fielding practice in Canberra, adding that he would be available for the ICC World Cup and they would not be calling another player into the squad, Sport24 reported.

Balance, who was recalled after former skipper Alastair Cook was dropped, didn't play during his side's three-wicket loss to the hosts in the opening match of the triangular series in Sydney on Friday.
