Injured Irfan ruled out of 2015 WC after failing fitness test

Pakistan's towering fast bowler Mohammad Irfan on Tuesday was ruled out of the World Cup following his failure to recover from a stress fracture in the pelvis.

Earlier, the left-arm fast bowler had gone for MRI scans in Adelaide after experiencing pain his right hip.

Brad Robinson, Pakistan's physiotherapist, confirmed that the injury ruled Irfan out of the World Cup, the Dawn reported.

Irfan, who played a crucial role in reviving Pakistan's World Cup campaign after losing their first two matches, was sidelined from the game against Ireland on Sunday due to the injury.
