Manchester United football team manager Louis van Gaal has been left worried by the injuries endured by Rafael da Silva, who was taken off with a suspected fractured cheekbone, and Luke Shaw, who picked a knock to his ankle, in the 2-0 victory against Yeovil Town in the League One cup.
Van Gaal was delighted after United ended the festive schedule a point closer to Chelsea and with a place in the FA Cup fourth round but the injuries endured by his players have left him worried.
Both Da Silva and Shaw were withdrawn at half-time in a game United were making hard work of until Ander Herrera's superb volley in the 64th minute gave the Premier League club the lead, The Guardian reported.
Winger Angel di Maria then came off the substitutes' bench and, after clearing a header off the line from Yeovil skipper Joe Edwards, the Argentine put the game to bed scoring at the last minute following a fine pass from captain Wayne Rooney.
While Van Gaal was pleased that his players found a way past a well-organised Yeovil side, the fresh injuries are a major concern, given United have been without so many players in defence this season.
Van Gaal believes that United has a lot of problems in the first half, adding that Da Silva has an injury, a fracture of his bone, so he said that it was fantastic the cuts that the right-back played through but the Dutchman had to change him.
And also Van Gaal said that Shaw had an ankle problem and had to be changed.

Van Gaal insisted that they have to wait and see with Da Silva because the right-back is now already taken away in a car.
Despite the injuries, the Dutchman claimed that he is very happy that United has won, as they have regained ground to Chelsea and are in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
