Intensity of 'Cyclone Komen' unlikely to increase: Bangladesh Met Dept.

Calling it 'moderate', Mohammad Shah Alam, Director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Thursday that the intensity of 'Cyclone Komen' is unlikely to increase further.

The Bangladesh Met Department also said the cyclone is likely to create a wind speed of upto 90 k m p h and the tidal surge might continue up to tomorrow, the Daily Star reported.

Alam added that the cyclone is likely to move from east to northeast and make landfall along the Cox's Bazaar coast before this evening, with accompanying waves of upto a height of five metres.

About a hundred houses have been destroyed by winds in Teknaf area of Cox's Bazar.
