Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has summarily dismissed the impression that the self-styled Islamic State (IS) group had gained a foothold in Pakistan, saying that peace would be restored in the country at any cost.
While refuting the possibility of the presence of IS on Pakistani soil, Khan said that law authorities had tightened the noose around terrorists who wanted to drive a wedge between people through their actions, reported the Dawn.
The statement came a day after investigators hinted at the possibility of the involvement of IS in the deadly attack on a bus full of Ismailis in Karachi.
Khan was addressing a public gathering in UC Darkali Mahmoori, located in the Kallar Syedan constituency.
He added that it was the responsibility of the entire nation and the political parties to send out a clear message of unity and unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism in these crucial times.
