National Panther Party chairman Bhim Singh on Friday said that international issues are resolved through discussions and not by tweets.
"International issues are not solved through tweets, they are solved by discussions. And everyone welcomed this discussion which took place between Narendra Modi and Nawaz Sharif. This issue was initially raised in the Shimla agreement in 1972 when PM Indira Gandhi said that the prime ministers of these two countries should meet frequently," said Singh while reacting to the tweet of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
"Today's issue isn't about Jammu Kashmir but of terrorism and this is not only India's concern but Pakistan's too. And I want to congratulate PM Modi for this initiative," he added.
Omar had earlier tweeted to express his views about the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and his Pakistani counterpart on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Ufa, Russia.
"And a little less chest thumping from spokespersons claiming victory because that's a sure shot way to derail the entire process," he tweeted.
