Flamboyant Australian all-rounder Shane Watson will now play for Royal Challengers Bangalore, with the Virat Kohli-led franchise spending a whopping Rs. 9.5 crore for Watto.
"Incredibly excited to join such a great franchise. Looking forward to joining up with my new teammates in April," Watson said in a tweet after getting picked by the RCB.
"Welcome to the RCB Camp @ShaneRWatson33! We're glad to have you!," The official Twitter account of Royal Challengers Bangalore said in tweet.
The Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore were eyeing for Watson as the battle of prices went up.
Watson was earlier with the Rajasthan Royals from IPL 2008 which also helped him make an improbable comeback to international cricket.

Watson decided to join the Royal after being sidelined due to injuries, and emerged the Player of the Tournament in the first edition of the tournament.
The all-rounder has always played a crucial role in the Rajasthan Royals' fortunes and in the absence of Rahul Dravid on the field he played an even greater role in 2014 as the captain of the team.
As many as 351 players are up for grabs in the Indian Premier League player auctions today.
