Delhi's Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar on Friday said former Test fast bowler S.Sreesanth is cooperating with investigators with regard to an Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing probe
Media quoted Kumar, as saying that he had visited the Special Cell office of the Delhi Police, but had not met with Sreesanth.
"I met my officers in special cell this morning...Sreesanth is cooperating with investigations," Kumar was quoted by CNN-IBN, as saying.
Kumar also said that no other names had surfaced in the investigation so far.
On n reports that members of the Dawood Ibrahim gang were involved, Kumar said: "We have said that a Dubai number was used...the number could have been used from India itself or from some other country."
Meanwhile, the Government of Kerala has decided to drop Sreesanth from its advertisement of a popular health scheme for the poor.
Called "Karunya", this scheme provides financial support to the needy for medical treatment and generates resources through government-run lottery called "Karunya Lottery".
Several celebrities in the state have lent their support to the scheme by appearing in the advertisements of the programme, in which they request people to buy the lottery tickets.
There are also reports in the media that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might consider launching of criminal proceedings against Sreesanth, Chandila, Chavan and Amit Singh.
A decision will be taken during the meeting on Sunday in Chennai.
The interrogation of cricketer-turned-bookie Amit Singh has revealed that two other Rajasthan Royals players-Ajinkya Rahane and Australian Brad Hodge-are also under the scanner of Delhi Police for spot fixing a match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils during IPL-5 in 2012.
In the match, Rajasthan were chasing 152 runs and had lost only three wickets. Rahane and Hodge were at the crease, and despite needing 12 runs in the final two overs, managed to score only 11, falling short by just one run and losing the match.
The allegations against Rahane and Hodge are yet to be verified so as to stand a test in court.
