A U.S.-based anti-proliferation group has claimed that Iran might need just a month to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for preparing a nuclear bomb, if it resorts to an extreme, direct enrichment procedure.
The Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) said it would take more than 11 months or longer for Tehran to convert enriched uranium into a usable atomic weapon, and that might still not yield a nuclear bomb, CNN reports.
The ISIS examined different scenarios under which Iran could produce enough weapons-grade uranium to make a nuclear bomb in order to break out of the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, the report added.
The warning comes as the U.S. lawmakers consider tightening sanctions on Iran until a deal is reached on the Middle Eastern country's nuclear program.
