Sixteen people were killed on Thursday during a funeral procession of anti- Daesh (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) fighters in the northern Iraqi village of Samarra.
According to reports, the funeral procession was being held for five members of the Al-Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitary units, who fought alongside the army in 2017 to wipe out the extremist terror group strongholds in several Iraqi towns.
Although the Iraqi government declared victory over the terror group, the fight for peace still ravages the land.
