Uttar Pradesh Muslim Waqf and Haj Minister Mohsin Raza on Sunday issued a notice to the officials of Shia Waqf Board after finding them absent in the office and said that he would discuss the matter with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Raza, who paid a surprise visit to the office of Waqf Board, found all its employee absent which irked him.

"It doesn't seem like an office. No officials are present in the office. Air conditioners are on for no reasons. Officers shouldn't consider office as their drawing room," Raza told ANI.

He further said that he would take the matter to Adityanath seeking cancellation of the board.

"I will talk to the Chief Minister regarding it. We will make it more transparent so that the people will not be hassled. I am taking the register with me and will take cognizance of it," he added.
