Congress leader Manish Tewari today said it was ironic that the central government is trying to justify the reported Chinese incursion by stating that China was only coming up to its perception line.
The former information and broadcasting minister told ANI, "It is ironic that the PLA has intruded 25 kilometers into Indian territory in northern Ladakh and the Indian Government is trying to justify the Chinese incursion by stating that China is only coming up to its perception line."
"If you extend that logic, China's cartographic invasion includes Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh as parts of Chinese territory. So, therefore, tomorrow, will the Indian Government, by the same logic, allow the PLA to come and occupy these areas also?" Tewari added.
Chief of the Army Staff General Dalbir Suhag on Tuesday denied reports of Chinese troops entering 25 kilometers into Indian territory.
"There is nothing like that (no Chinese incursion)," said General Suhag on the sidelines of an event in the national capital.
