Islamic State jihadists in Syria are reportedly drinking gallons of Red Bull to keep themselves awake and alert during battles.

According to Daily Star, the high-caffeine energy drink has reportedly been shipped to Turkey in their hundreds, from where they are being transported in lorries for the IS militants in Syria.

A report by Australian paper The Local said that everyday some four to five trucks carrying Red Bull were sent to Syria.

The report quoted Mustafa Yilmaz, the owner of Turkish trucking company Cem-Ay Transport, as saying that buyers on the Syrian side did not identify themselves to the transporters.

Yilmaz added that once the goods reached Syria, they were then transferred onto Syrian trucks in a zone at the Cilvegozu crossing.
