Former Islamic State (IS) militant Saleh has said that the hostages always seem compliant in IS videos because they do not realize that they will be killed as they are subjected to various mock executions and have a "false sense of security".
According to Sky News, Saleh said that he was told by Mohammed Emwazi what he had to say to the hostages.
Emwazi, popularly known as jihadi John, told Saleh to tell the hostages that the IS did not have any problem with them and that they were only their visitors.
Hostages were also told that they were only being used to convey a message to their government that IS militants want them to stop attacking Syria.
Saleh also confirmed that the masked man in IS videos, who is known as jihadi John is indeed Mohammed Emwazi.
