TV pundit Richard Keys has claimed that Manchester United are planning to sell the name of their Old Trafford stadium to Nike for 500 million-pounds.

Keys, who quit Sky in a storm over sexist remarks, reportedly posted the story on his Twitter account, leaking it to his 1,95,000 followers.

According to the Daily Star, Keys claimed that he had heard about the deal from a 'solid source' and 'advance talks' were under way.

Keys, who now works for TV channel Al Jazeera and talkSPORT radio, tweeted that if he is right there will be murders.

Although United reportedly dismissed the claims as 'rubbish', the club fans sparked a storm of protest on internet football forums, including threats to the club's American owners the Glazer family.

However, others have accused Keys of stirring up trouble for under-fire United ahead of their Champions League quarterfinal clash against holders Bayern Munich, the report added.
