Islamic State (IS) has reportedly beheaded a man accused of sorcery and witchcraft in Iraq.

Images posted online by IS fighters showed a man being decapitated and then lying in a pool of his own blood as a crowd of people watched on. Another image showed the victim's severed head placed on his back, reported The Mirror.

One of the people who shared the unnerving images identified himself as a British militant named, Abu Bakr al-Britani.

The pictures are believed to have been taken near Tikrit in Iraq's Salah al-Din province.
