Islamic State (IS) militants have released a new video footage that appears to show that the jihadists are using a drone on ground inflicting mass damage but one expert has claimed that an unmanned aircraft is unlikely to be used in a real attack.

According to Fox News, the crisply-edited footage can be viewed on the Al Arabiya website. The footage starts with a major explosion in Ein Al Salam city and later shifts to an aerial view of the mass damage.

The video at one point shifts focus to the ground following IS militants running through a sea of destruction and exchanging fire with Kurdish forces.

The site also says that aerial footage was shot by "planes without a pilot," prompting potential concerns the drones could be used for more than just filming.

Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters said that filming drone footage and using them in battles are two different things.
