ANI Wellington

A report has revealed that a woman was stoned to death by jihadists in a militant-occupied city in northern Syria for adultery.

An opposition activist who witnessed the incident said that the woman, Faddah Ahmad, was clad in black from head to toe and was put in a small hole in the ground. The residents who had gathered there were then asked to pelt stones at her but when no one stepped forward; the jihadists did it themselves until the woman was dead, reported Stuff.co.nz.

The dead body was then dragged away.

The stoning was the second such incident in a span of 24 hours. Shamseh Abdullah, 26, was killed in a similar manner a day earlier after she was accused of having sex outside marriage.

The report described the killings as first of its kind in northern Syria which is now under the control of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The group has unleashed terror on the residents by enforcing a strict interpretation of Islamic laws which includes beheadings and chopping off the hand of thieves, the report added.
